Jontay Porter, a former Missouri Tiger, and Father Tolton High School star, has been banned from the NBA. Following a league investigation, it was found that Porter disclosed confidential information to sports bettors, limited his playing time, and bet on NBA games.

“There is nothing more important than protecting the integrity of NBA competition for our fans, our teams, and everyone associated with our sport,” said NBA Commissioner Adam Silver.

24-year-old Jontay is the younger brother of Denver Nuggets star Michael Porter Jr. He went undrafted in the NBA but played with Memphis and signed a two-way contract with Toronto in 2023. While none of Porter’s bets involved games he played in,  the NBA investigation found that Porter “placed at least 13 bets on NBA games using an associate’s online betting account” from January through March of 2024. According to CBS Sports, Porter wagered $54,094 and received a payout of $76,059, resulting in a net winnings of $21,965.
